Avocado – is a powerhouse of healthy fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated) which your body needs to function properly. These fats are also important when trying to lose weight because they help your burn fat faster and promote satiety.

Spinach – is also very low in calories and rich in antioxidants and micronutrients such as vitamin C, lutein, nitrates, kaempferol, potassium, vitamin B6, iron and magnesium.

This leafy green is great for eye, skin, & bone health, blood circulation (thanks to nitrates), and also lowers high blood pressure.

  • 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt (plain fat-free)

Star by pouring the milk into the blender and add in the apples, spinach, avocado, banana, yogurt and honey. Blend for 2-3 minutes until completely smooth and creamy. Enjoy.

Did you know that drinking your smoothies immediately after blending them prevents nutrient loss? Yep, it’s true, you’ll also find that the smoothie separates into layers when kept in the fridge after blending.

That’s why I highly recommend drinking your smoothies right away, however, it’s still possible to store this smoothie. Simply flash freeze your ingredients by placing them on a baking sheet and putting it in the freezer for 2 hours.

Once they are hardened, transfer them into a freezer-safe bag with a zip-lock and freeze until morning. Before blending, let the ingredients thaw, blend and enjoy.

Also, if you want to enjoy this smoothie after a workout, simply blend, pour into your smoothie bottle, tightly close the lid and take it with you to the gym.
