Here is another one of my favorite high protein strawberry cottage cheese smoothie recipes. This smoothie comes with over 30 grams of protein, it’s extra creamy, and will keep you feeling satiated until lunch. If you haven’t tried cottage cheese smoothies, you are in for a treat with this one.

I love strawberry smoothies and this one is actually very good. Since I’ve started experimenting with cottage cheese in smoothies, I’ve come to enjoy the taste and don’t think I’ll be making smoothies without it any time soon. Try this recipe and you’ll understand what I mean.

Does Cottage Cheese Pair Well With Strawberries?

Yes! Cottage cheese blended with strawberries in smoothies is very delicious! The strawberries adds a sweet and slightly sour flavor while the cottage cheese brings a salty and creamy texture to the smoothie. All in all, both go so well together.

When To Drink High Protein Smoothies

It’s best to drink high protein smoothies for breakfast or 1 hour prior or after workouts. Protein smoothies can also be consumed as meal replacement shakes for those on a smoothie diet but it is always recommended to include healthy foods into your diet as well.

Cottage Cheese – is high in protein, calcium, selenium, phosphorus, and B vitamins. It is great for bones, muscles, weight management, and gut health. Adding cottage cheese to your smoothies will also keep you feeling full longer during the day.

Greek Yogurt – is also high in protein, calcium, vitamin B6 & B12. It adds extra cream to smoothies and provide you with some amazing probiotics which help improve gut health.

Protein Powder – will not only add enough protein to your smoothies to get you moving but also provide you with a good amount of potassium and sodium. It’s great for maintaining weight, building muscles and bone health.

Almond Milk – adds a nutty flavor to this smoothie, is low in calories and also provides a bit of vitamin D & E, plus a good amount of calcium and potassium.

High Protein Strawberry Cottage Cheese Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients for 1 serving | Total time: 5 minutes

  • 1 cup of strawberries (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (low-fat)
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt (plain)
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (vanilla flavored, I use Whey)

How To Make Strawberry Cottage Cheese Smoothie

Start by pouring the milk into the blender and add the strawberries, yogurt, protein powder and cottage cheese. Pulse twice and blend on medium high speed for 2-3 minutes or until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass, garnish with some fresh strawberries and enjoy.

Storage & Tips

This cottage cheese strawberry smoothie can be stored in the fridge for up to 6 hours but make sure to transfer it into a container with a lid to lock in the nutrients. With that being said, I always recommend drinking your smoothies while they are still fresh.

Variations:

You can add peanut butter and honey to this smoothie instead of protein powder if you choose. However, it’ll reduce the amount of protein in the smoothie.

I’ve tried this smoothie with apples and bananas along and it came out great. You can also add oat and coconut milk instead of almond milk as well.

Who Should Not Drink High Protein Smoothies

People with high cholesterol levels, diabetes, or kidney problems should not add protein powder to their smoothies unless it’s a 100% Whey protein powder. That’s because regular protein powder contains more sugar, densely saturated and contains cholesterol.
